Do you work with people who are just too difficult?
Perhaps they have entrenched complex problems.
Perhaps everyone else can see how they should change but they can’t.
Are you frustrated, seemed to have tried everything?
Motivational Interviewing can help.
Who is this course designed for?
You might work with individuals who need to change their lifestyle – adopt healthy behaviours or give up unhelpful ones. You might work with families with unhelpful coping strategies, or people who need to change offending behaviour.
If there is a positive reason for change, it’s your job to help them and they really don’t want to – then this is the course for you.
This course is for anyone working with or supporting people who are making behavioural changes in their lives. It is particularly relevant for those who want to further develop their skills, strategies for working with entrenched habits and resistance to change.
What is Motivational Interviewing?
Motivational interviewing is an evidence based communication style that helps with a wide range of issues, particularly where people may be stuck in their own cycle of behaviour.
This course is hands on! We will help you to quickly develop the skills to put into practice with those service users you might find difficult to motivate and resistant to change.
A buffet-style lunch will be included on the day.
Also included: individual and group work plus a certificate to take home
