The Third Wave of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) looks at changing behaviour and the context of cognition, by adopting mindfulness, acceptance and compassion approach. This course will explain the change from ‘first’ and ‘second wave’ ideas and how the 3rd Wave shift helps people with complex issues to respond.
You will have the opportunity to discuss and compare a range of Third Wave approaches (such as MBCT, DBT, ACT, etc).
You will also take away some exercises and metaphors you can use in your work. The course also describes the pathways available for training further in these approaches.
